Nordic Agro Summit
More speakers and seminars confirmed
The competitiveness of Nordic agriculture, farm succession, political decisions and the journey from research to practical application are among the topics of the first seminars announced for Nordic Agro Summit in Malmö on 27–28 January 2027.
The programme addresses issues affecting both day-to-day life on the farm and the long-term development of agriculture. The seminars and speakers announced so far include:
- Nordic agriculture in transition – competitiveness, climate and resilience. Lisbeth Henricksen of SEGES Innovation and Hans Ramel, farmer and second vice-president of LRF, will offer Danish and Swedish perspectives on how agriculture can meet new demands while remaining profitable.
- Farm succession. Anna Ross, project manager for Jobba Grönt, and Saba Nazarian, regenerative farmer and educator at The Culinary Farm, will discuss how more young people and career changers can gain the knowledge, experience and opportunities they need to establish themselves in agriculture.
- From the UK via Brussels to Sweden: how does policy affect individual farmers? Daniel Zeichner, former UK minister responsible for food security and rural affairs, will open a discussion on how political decisions shape conditions on the farm.
- From agricultural research to solutions that strengthen production. Mathilda Hollertz of Stiftelsen Lantbruksforskning, Cecilia Hammenhag of SLU and Sara Lundberg of Växa will explore the journey from research and plant breeding to practical benefits for farmers.
“We want to highlight issues that affect farmers both today and in the longer term. By bringing together experience from the farm with perspectives from research and policymaking, we hope to encourage discussions that are relevant to the industry,” says Vincent Lind, project manager for Nordic Agro Summit.
